7 - Orange Jewelweed
Orange Jewelweed - Impatiens capensis aka Spotted Touch-me-not. An odd looking flower. The petals on this one are not quite open giving it a very bug like appearance. Adapted for hummingbird visitation it also attracts bees and butterflies. The stem juice has medicinal qualities and is said to relieve the itching caused by poison ivy. |
