Mt Holyoke Short Scramble |
Not really a hike, more of a scramble part way up to the summit house on Mt Holyoke. The leaves are not yet on the trees and there are flood waters in the Connecticut River valley.
We went poorly equiped with just a couple of bottles of water and wearing only jeans and sneakers. It was enough to make us think that this would be a good way to get summer exercise and a hell of a lot less boring than spending an hour in the gym. UPDATE: I later discovered that the rock ledges that I had always assumed were Titan's Piazza are in fact not. Titan's Piazza is actually the name for an area of basalt columns on the cliff face. Always up for a challenge Lisa and I went in search of Titan's Piazza. You can find the trip details HERE.
