March Cataract and Mt Greylock Summit
The weather was pretty nasty but I decided on a pre-hike trip to Mt Greylock to get the lay of the land. Well, after missing the turn for Rte 7 in Pitsfield I get horribly lost, more than once. I end up circumnavigating the reservation by road. At the end of the day what should have been a 120 mile round trip wound up being over 200 miles long.

With very grey skies and rain off and on I was not about to take on a major hike. However, the nice lady in the Visitor Center outlined a good loop hike for another day. She also suggested a trip out to the March Cataract falls, a round trip of a little over a mile. Sounded good.

With a paved road all the way to the summit I guessed I could check that out also without risking a soaking.
